Sit on the patio and people watch
Admittedly, the appeal for this restaurant is that you can sit on the patio and people watch. But the food holds it's own, the prices aren't outrageous and the service is good if not great. This is a favorite when I want to take people to Georgetown and have seafood. Plus there is a lot of parking which is rare in Gtown.

Great neighborhood bar and grill
My family loves this place. Whether I come for lunch, meet the hubby for a quick bite or bring the whole family we are always pleased. The staff is friendly though not very attentive. The patio is a great place to people watch. Parking is a little limited. But you can always find a seat in the restaurant. The menu is on the minimal side but lots of sandwich and salad choices and some great drinks.

Best Peking Duck... period
I have been coming here since the mid 80's and have yet to find a place with consistently better Peking Duck. Yes the restaurant is starting to look a little worn around the edges and yes the service isn't always the best. But the food is AMAZING! The duck skin is always crispy but not tough. The meat is tender and juicy, never dry. You watch them carve table side so you know you aren't getting scammed. Make sure to ask for the carcass so you can make duck soup at home! They make and fold the duck in pancakes with the sauce and green onions for you. (Quite a feat using just spoons). Plus the other food is top notch as well.

The best Mahkni in town!
This is my favorite Indian restaurant and it is all because of their Mahkni (butter chicken). It is so moist and flavorful that it is addictive. They are also very friendly and willing to adapt the spiciness of an item to your liking. Oh and their portions are very good, not tiny, like some Indian restaurants.

Great food!
Everyone I take here loves it. The food is wonderful! Whether you come for Dim Sum or just order off the menu, you will be pleased. The downsides (to me) are huge. They don't have Peking Duck and their roast duck, though tasty, is full of bone shards. The restrooms are dirty. The restaurant itself is dirty and shabby, from the carpet to the sticky tables and the torn upholstery on the chairs. And to top it off, I have seen roaches and flies crawling the walls. Love the food but can't stand eating there.

Not impressed
This neighborhood restaurant is always busy so we have given it multiple tries. However the food is always flavorless, the service doesn't even deserve one star and no matter what price you charge it is too much for the experience.

Dupont store is just so-so
While it is wonderful to have a place for a quick bite to eat of Japanese and Japanese inspired food, I don't think that the Dupont store has it down. This is a great concept with a so-so application. The decor is drab and dull, the sitting area upstairs has exposed pipes and feels like a sauna in the summer. The bar staff are curt and unhelpful. The food however is tasty and it is worth a trip for the tea.

Great lunch buffet
Come in here M-F at lunch and the place is jam packed, for good reason. The buffet is phenomal and very well priced. There aren't a lot of choices but everything is well prepared, varying in taste and just a pleasure to eat there. Other restaurants can learn from this.

Mehak Indian Restaurant posted on 7/3/2008
Very good, though not as good as the one in VA
The recipes at this Mehak are the same as their sister restaurant in VA. However the staff isn't as friendly and willing to customize things. Also the prices are a little higher and the lack of parking makes it a bad choice if you have to drive.

Not a fan
The food here is great and bordering on amazing. My problem is that by the time I suffer through the snooty maitre de and the waiters who could care less, my stomach is turned and my mind is made up. I see others treated differently, so maybe regulars or local celebs are treated better but as a local, I don't recommend this restaurant.
