Wonderful food, though pricey
This restaurant is set to reopen in early March (any day now). And it has been sorely missed.
The downsides are that it is rather pricey, for a buffet. Plus the lines can be excruciating and the waitstaff slow (over burdened).
However the food is a treat!
Stay away from the sushi and sashimi as it is of questionable quality and some looks/tastes like it has been frozen.
Everything else is a delight, from the crab legs, lobster tails, prime rib, oysters, and mussels plus the cooking styles of China, Italy, Spain, and South America, this is really a treat for your tongue.
Just come early or you may spend more time waiting in line than you do eating.

Best Seafood Buffet
This is normally my first eating stop when I go to Vegas. It is located in the Rio Casino right off of the strip. They have the best crab legs, and any kind of seafood you can think of. All at a great price.

It was better a year ago...
I went to Vegas in April of 2006 and went here for the first time. I thought it was great and I was really looking forward to coming back. Oh, how things can change
With a group of eight people, we all waited through the line for about 10 minutes, paid, and then waited for 20 minutes before a table was ready for us. For such a large group, this was unacceptable considering the cost of the buffet.
While the service we received at our table was good, the food just wasn't as good as I remembered. Just about the only decent thing I had was the prime rib. Wait a second, I thought this was a seafood buffet, right? One thing I like to remember is that good, fresh, fish shouldn't taste or smell "fishy". I'd already had flaky and delicious halibut earlier in the day and the halibut at Village was sub-par. I found that the deep fried seafood (of the breaded variety) was pretty good, but I find that harder to screw up.
My girlfriend and I had the option to join the group for a second trip to the buffet later in our trip. We didn't end up going. Her experience with the sushi there was not pleasant. I remember hearing her say she nearly got sick after tasting it. Not good, folks.

Overpriced Rubbery Seafood...Don't go!!!
We went to the Village buffet with high hopes since we are avid fans of the Rio Carnival World Buffet. As seafood lovers, we were excited about trying out this buffet at the same hotel. We were VERY disappointed. Don't be fooled by the idea that there will be an amazing assortment of fresh seafood here. The lobster was the most disgusting I've ever had, chewy, rubbery, bland, and mushy. Seafood should NOT taste like this. The crab legs were mediocre, same problem with the lobster - chewy, rubbery, and mushy. The Carnival World Buffet is a way better buffet for the price and selection. The crab legs there are 100 times better. DON'T GO!

Delicious crab
We heard great things about this place & thought we'd give it a try. Some of the food was OK, but there were crab claws that were the best ever! I ate a little of everything, then, when I found the crab claws, that's all i ate the rest of the night. It was like a crab feed at our table. Might not be as fancy as some other places, but it was clean & very enjoyable. Had no problems with the crowd, but we went on a Monday night.

good food, hectic place
My husband and I love seafood and the selection is wonderful here!! Every kind of crab imaginable as well as tons of other choicesit is however really crowded, expensive and has a less then desirable crowd at times..we could just as easily go to the gold coast seafood buffet on Thursdays which is good and saved alot of $

Don't Bother
Unless you enjoy trying to fight through people that act like they haven't eaten in months, don't go to this buffet. The rudeness of the people that are trying to pile their plates as high as possible with the mushy slipper lobsters are pathetic. You can get better service at some of the 10 dollar buffets in Vegas. I would not recommend you waste your money at this buffet there are much better ones available in Vegas. If you are a tourist, you might want to go just to see all of the seafood (because you sure as heck can't get your hands on any!), but if you are local, like myself, you know there is much better offerings to be had.
