Spoon, Edward C Jr. MD

After trying number of OB/GYNs after my move to LV, I stumbled upon some patient reviews of Dr. Spoon. I am so happy that I did! He is a very courteous and conscientious doctor. Too many times doctors don't take the time to speak with patients and he does. I had an abnormality on a PAP smear so had to have a culposcopy. Though the procedure was very painful, he explained everything and answered all my questions. He shows genuine care and concern for his patients. His staff leave something to be desired, as the majority treat you like a number, not a person. Also, I've been to 2 of his clinics, one in Summerlin and one near UMC and both are pretty gross. The waiting rooms are dirty and crowded; the chairs have mystery stains on them and everything looks like it could use replacement. The actual patient rooms are clean, but the waiting rooms scared me and made me doubt my decision to see Dr. Spoon. Luckily my first impression was wrong and Dr. Spoon is great. I highly recommend this doctor.

It seems a lot has changed since the 2006 and 2007 reveiews that were posted, because I did not have a positive experience with Dr. Spoon. He rushed me in and out of his office on several occasions, his staff (Hazel) was rude on the phone, and his practice was negligent more than once re: delivery of vital medical information. I was never even seen by a doctor before being discharged from the hospital after the birth of our baby! Unbelieveable. If he were the last OB/GYN in Vegas, I would go to medical school and treat myself. In my 15+ years of seeing OB/GYNs, I have NEVER had an experience like this.

Dr. Spoon is by far the best Doctor I have ever had. He's considerate, kind, down to earth, and doesn't make you feel hurried. It's such a relief to have found him!!

Dr. Spoon delivered my baby via emergency c - section. He is not only a wonderful doctor, surgeon, but all around good human being. You can barely see my scar and my child was BIG! He's the best of the best!

I saw Bartholomew my entire pregnancy, but when I went into labor before my scheduled c-section, Dr. Spoon did my delivery. He was GREAT! I had some complications after the surgery, and he came in at midnight on Christmas Eve just to check in on me =)

Dr. Spoon should teach other doctors about bedside manner! He made my 2nd experience relaxing and enjoyable. I was terrified to have a C-section, but he eased my mind before, during, and after surgery. If my insurance changes and he's not an in-network doctor, I'll pay the extra money just so I can see him! :)

I have been going to Dr Spoon for 6 years and every time I had an appointment his staff and him were more than accomidating. When I was pregnant with my daughter they were always willing to answer any questions I had. I would recommend him to anyone.
